Guiding You Through Healthcare

Why Alta Vista Benefits?

For Medicare

We have been in business helping clients since 2007. We are experts in the field of Medicare and help our clients with far more than just their insurance. When billing and claims issues occur, we represent our clients and work with the insurance companies to get the problems resolved.

For Businesses

We are experienced benefits consultants. We know the complexities of Health Care Reform and how it affects businesses. If we don’t know the answer, we will do the research to find the answer. We partner with business owners and HR professionals to create cost effective benefit plans that mean the most to employees and help cover the costs that the new ACA plans do not cover. We are a resource to connect businesses to Payroll Services, streamlined benefits enrollment, Employee handbooks and other HR needs. We can even help make sure the business has the training and understanding of how to be HIPAA compliant as a covered entity.

With our long-term care planning process, we do careful analysis about you and the coverage options available and develop a plan that funds the extended care should you ever need it (called custodial or non-medical care).

Medicare Health Insurance is an additional policy you can purchase to cover the things Medicare does not cover. You don’t have to buy this additional coverage, but if you don’t, you will have to pay for the 20% of your medical expenses that Medicare doesn’t cover once you are Medicare eligible.

Employers are finding it more difficult to offer employee benefits in today’s environment. We make this easy for you. With our creative solutions, we analyze and select the best combination of company benefits to offer your employees in order to stay competitive and still attract and retain the best talent.

Long Term Care Planning
What is Long Term Care planning? Why do you need Long Term Care planning?

You may require this care for a long time after a medical condition, injury or accident has been treated and you have been released from a doctor's care. This care is not paid for through health insurance. Without a plan, the expense of this care can have devastating consequences on your family and can easily wipe out your retirement savings.

No one wants to think about needing long term care. Yet, the chances of needing it are 4 – 6 times greater than your house burning down. Doesn't it make sense to put a plan in place since this is not covered by health insurance? Otherwise, what will be the consequences to your family and your finances?

Health insurance, even Medicare, does not cover long term care services. If you do not have a plan in place, you may not get the care you want and prefer. Having a policy in place can make sure that the funds you need for care are available when you need them, without having to liquidate assets or use retirement savings. You cannot guarantee the value of your retirement savings in the future. However, you can count on long term care funds to be there when you need them.

Medicare Health Insurance
What is Medicare Health Insurance? Why purchase additional Medicare coverage?

There are two choices of Medicare Health Insurance you can purchase:

  1. A Medicare Supplement and a prescription drug plan (Part D)
  2. Medicare Advantage plans with Part D coverage included.

Medicare alone will not pay all of your medical expenses. Original Medicare works like a lot of health plans in that there are deductibles and co-pays. These can be significant for hospital stays and diagnostic testing. Most people want to reduce these out of pocket expenses by purchasing additional private medical insurance.

Prescription drug coverage is separate from a Medicare Supplement, but can be included in a Medicare Advantage plan. If you do not purchase Prescription Drug coverage when you are first eligible, there is a fine levied if you do purchase it later.

Medicare has a standard model under which all of these plans work and the insurance company can offer richer benefits than the standard Medicare model. Premiums and benefits vary between carriers and the area where you live, but the key to selecting the right Medicare Advantage or Part D plan for you is based on the prescriptions you are taking.

Creative Employee Benefits Solutions
Why do you need to plan your benefits more carefully now? What insurance products does this include?

The impact of Health Care Reform on the cost of health insurance is forcing many employers to re-evaluate their employee benefits program. The new health insurance plans have higher deductibles and out of pocket expenses that leave gaps in health insurance coverage for employees. A carefully constructed benefits plan can address the gaps and combine employer-paid and employee-paid benefits at a significant savings.

Our benefits package includes group health benefits, dental, vision, cancer and accident protection, life insurance, disability, and long term care.
